One-of-a-kind silver and copper necklace featuring a hand-cut chevron amethyst, inspired by the goddess Artemis

After cutting this stone, I couldn't help to reflect on its similarity to an arrowhead. So when I sat down to sketch the design, Artemis instantly came to mind.

Artemis: Goddess of the Hunt. Often associated with the moon, similarly to how her twin Apollo is associated with the sun.

The bulk of the pendant is formed from silver, which is also representative of the moon and the goddess, while the bow is crafted from copper for both contrast and to bring in an element of grounding to the earth.

From the bow is drawn a delicate patterned silver wire. The shape of the draw is reflected in the backplate, extended from the bezel set stone. A hand formed rivet anchors the draw tab of the "bow string" to allow for a slight amount of movement.

The asymmetry of the pendant continues in the choice of chain: The larger link paperlip chain reflects the strain of the draw, while a delicate figago chain suspends the bow as an extension of the bow string's pattern.

While setting the bezel, the folding and rippling of the fine silver reminded me of leather; perfect for Goddess of the Hunt.

A reticulated crescent moon dangles from a short length of decorative chain from the bottom of the bow.

The current length of the chain is approximately 20" and a secure lobster clasp was chosen for this piece, though these both can be altered upon request for no additional charge.

This pendant is one of a kind, designed for those who feel the call of the hunt, the moon, and the wilds. Once sold, it cannot be truly replicated.
