Art Prints for Coloring: Insects Vol. 1 is a hand-illustrated coloring book by Marki Geib, founder of Studio Miscelleneum, drawn entirely in black pigment ink with a fineline set and brush pen. The subject, insects. is one Marki has returned to since a college biology class in 2012, when a professor's encouragement over a drawing of a dragonfly's wing first pointed toward art as a career. That thread runs through every page here.

The illustrations began in June 2026, inspired by students at Montgomery County Juvenile Court facilities during zentangle drawing sessions. Macrophotography served as reference, though artistic liberties were taken throughout. The result is a series of detailed, meditative line drawings ready for your hand and your color.

This first collection was printed at home in August 2026 on paper chosen for its weight and soft texture — a surface that holds color well and feels considered in the hand. Future volumes will expand the selection and vary in subject matter as new illustrations are completed.
